Instructors
Dan Wallis has been a student of Suzuki Sensei's since he joined Wado Ryu karate in Prince George in 1975. After relocating to Campbell River, he opened his own dojo in 1980. The club has been housed in elementary schools, the Eagles Hall, the old Elks hall, and now he has his own dojo. The club also has a non profit society to enhance tournament/clinic participation for students.
Dan enjoyed a successful karate career competitively earning trips to the podium locally, provincially, in Western Canada, and at the Nationals in both kata and kumite. He also has been both team captain and coach for Canada at the WIKF World Championships.
Dan Gradings: 5t'h Dan awarded 1998 by Tatsuo Suzuki, 8'h Dan Hanshi Wado Ryu Karate 5'th Dan awarded 2002 by NKA Technical Committee, 6th Dan awarded 2005 by Tatsuo Suzuki, 8'h Dan Hanshi Wado Ryu.
In 2011 in London, England during the WIKF Instructors course, Suzuki Sensei awarded Dan 7th Dan. This was the last Dan grading issued by Sensei. he passed away shortly arter.
