Upon entering as a new student at ages 11 years and older, one starts wearing a white belt.
Below under Kyu exams is a full explanation of each test one needs to progress through the belt ranks.
2014 grading fee structure is attached:
8th kyu
$30 grading fee (yellow belt)
$30 grading fee (orange belt)
$40 grading fee (green belt)
$40 grading fee (blue belt)
$40 grading fee (purple belt)
3rd kyu (Brown belt)
$50 grading fee
2nd kyu (Brown belt with one stripe)
$50 grading fee
1st kyu (Brown belt with two stripes)
$50 grading fee
